プログラム内容/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION：
日本の識字率は世界トップレベルで、「もはや日本に識字問題はない」と思われている方もいるかもしれません。仮にごく小さな識字問題があっても、「非識字者を識字化する（読み書きを学ばせる）ことで、その問題が解決する」と信じられている場合が少なくありません。実際には、「声の文化」（非識字者の文化）には、「文字の文化」にはない様々な特性が息づいていることが報告されています。

今回は、私自身のフィールドワークで見聞きした、「声の文化」の事例、特徴を紹介し、「声の文化」と「文字の文化」の接触場面で起こる様々なストラテジーの考察を通して、「文字の文化」を生きる者として、自文化中心主義を乗り越えることの難しさを、みなさんと一緒に考えたいと思います。

The literacy rate of Japan is the highest in the world and many Japanese people believe there is no illiteracy problem in Japan. If we recognize the problem of illiteracy, we tend to believe that the problem will be solved by teaching illiterate people how to read and write. Actually certain cultural features of illiterate people ("orality") which we cannot see in literate culture have been observed. I introduce; (1) unique aspects of "orality" culture, and (2) some strategies between "orality" and literacy from my field work at Kawasaki, Japan. (3) Then I would like to discuss together how difficult it is to overcome ethnocentrism for someone who lives in a literate culture.

講師/PRESENTER：
猿橋順子　 1971 年生まれ
専門商社、マーケット・リサーチ＆コンサルティング会社に勤務した後、 2004 年、青山学院大学博士後期課程修了：博士（国際コミュニケーション）。現在、玉川大学文学部非常勤講師、青山学院大学総合研究所特別研究員。川崎市ふれあい館識字学級でのフィールドワークをきっかけに、国際結婚などの理由で日本に定住する外国籍女性の子育てサークル活動、多文化子どもの学習支援・居場所作り活動に奔走中。

Junko Saruhashi: Lecturer at Tamagawa University and Researcher at The Research Institute of Aoyama Gakuin University. Graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University with Ph.D. in International Communication.

場所案内/How to get there?:
麗澤大学東京研究センター(新宿アイランド．タワー4階／新宿区西新宿 6-6-1)。アイランドタワーは、丸の内線西新宿駅と直接つながっています。JR新宿駅からは、徒歩10分です。低層階行のエレベーターに乗り、4階で降りて廊下を右へ進んでください。左側一番奥のドアが、麗澤大学東京研究センターの入り口です。

i-Land Tower can be accessed directly from Nishi-Shinjuku Station on the Marunouchi Line by following the underground path. From JR Shinjuku Station it is approximately a 10-minute walk. Once you get to the building, select an elevator that stops on the 4th floor. After you get off on the 4th floor, walk to the right until you get to the last door on your left.
