挨拶/Greetings：
シータリアンの皆様には益々ご健勝のことと存じます。

昨年秋に「異文化コミュニケーション学会SIETAR, Japan」が、正式に日本学術会議に「学術研究団体」として登録されてから初めての年次大会を本学、昭和女子大学で開催できますことはこの上ない光栄と存じます。長引く不況やアメリカによる対イラク戦争など、私達を取り巻く不穏な環境は年々厳しくなっています。しかしこのような時代だからこそ、私達一人ひとりが自分たちが培ってきた知識や経験を共有し、草の根レベルで平和への道を模索できれば、そしてそのような場として本学を使っていただければ、これ以上の幸せはありません。

昭和女子大学は東京の世田谷区に位置し、交通の便が大変よく、渋谷から田園都市線で5分、バスで10分という距離です。本学の名物「七人の小人たち」と共に多くの皆様のご参加、ご来場を心よりお待ち申し上げます。

Dear SIETAR members,

It is a great honor to host the first Annual Conference here at Showa Women's University since SIETAR, Japan was acknowledged as an academic research organization by the Science Council of Japan. With prolonged recession and the impending US attack on Iraq, the world has filled with so much anxiety. I believe now is the time where all of us must come together to share experiences and knowledge to work out the way to peace. Nothing would make me happier than having this campus be the place to hold such meetings.

The University is located in Setagaya, Tokyo and it is 5 minutes from Shibuya by Denentoshi-line and 10 minutes by bus. I together with the Seven Dwarves of Showa, will look forward to seeing you in June!
